Continuous professional development and internal growth are central to how NEPower scales its operations. Recently, two of our team members, Miranna and Markus, completed a one and a half year Special Professional Qualification in Production Leadership at Vamia.
The initiative for the training originally sparked from annual development discussions with Production Director Jani, who recognized the need to provide practical leadership tools as responsibilities within our container assembly and production operations grew.
For Miranna and Markus, both of whom have a solid background as installers, transitioning into supervisory roles required a completely new set of skills.
Practical tools for everyday leadership and communication
For Miranna, the comprehensive training program provided essential frameworks for communication and team dynamics, especially when managing a young, dynamic production team.
"One of the most concrete benefits for me was learning how to give constructive feedback. As a young supervisor working with a young team, establishing authority and communication boundaries can be challenging. The training provided me with the necessary tools and confidence to handle these situations effectively," Miranna explains.
NEPower actively supports employee-led initiatives for advanced education. Following the completion of this qualification, Miranna has decided to continue her academic journey further into university of applied sciences (AMK) studies.
Bridging physical work with production strategy
For Markus, the supervisor training opened up a broader perspective on how corporate strategy, processes, and factory floor operations interconnect. Moving away from the purely execution-oriented mindset of a traditional installer allows for a deeper understanding of modern industrial manufacturing.
"The training went into great detail about corporate management and process operations. When you are doing physical work as an installer, detailed process tracking might sometimes feel distant. This education illustrated exactly why these processes are measured and how every small cog in the machine impacts the success of the company. It gave me a clear vision of what it takes to run an efficient production facility," Markus says.
While Miranna continues her path in higher education, Markus focuses on integrating the newly acquired strategic and operational insights directly into the daily management and optimization of our production lines.
Strategic competence ensures project reliability
From a management perspective, investing in professional qualifications directly impacts project delivery and quality. Production Director Jani emphasizes that understanding the broader financial and operational framework helps supervisors communicate goals more effectively downstream to the installation teams.
By bridging field experience with structured leadership training, NEPower ensures that its growing production infrastructure remains efficient, scalable, and safe. Competent leadership on the factory floor translates directly into high-quality assembly, predictable schedules, and reliable BoP and EPC deliveries for our infrastructure clients.
